There is no green space close by and in the winter it is too risky for these old people to walk to the closest park.

Shane (40) grew up in Arklow and is an Optician with a practice in the town. His wife Emer (40) is a part-time nurse in and hails from Westport. They have two children Conor (7) and Dervla (4). Shane, a self confessed DIY enthusiast, is a keen gardener and did all of the work on the garden in their previous house. The House: This specifically planned dream house sums up the design ethics of Emer and Shane. It has been carefully crafted and reveals itself slowly with one space opening up to another. The materials used are of the highest quality and the decor and art chosen are specific to this new environment / home. The Garden: The garden was a slightly awkward L shape plot that wraps around two sides of the house. Diarmuid was challenged by the site, its shape and the plentiful supply of sun.
