Planting position: Full sun.
Ideal for winter-rainfall regions.
Suitable for most areas, without severe frost, and providing adequate watering.
Requires regular watering, especially during winter or dry spells.
Compost-enriched, well-draining loamy soil.
Watch out for snails and slugs.
Propagate from winter division.
This vigorous perennial produces tall flower spikes that emerge from the
shorter, lush, strap-like foliage. The large flower heads appear in summer
and is deep blue. Also existing is a pure white form.
‘Table Mountain agapanthus’ (30cm) with is deep blue flowers.
A.campanulatus (50 - 60cm) with long-lasting, pale blue summer flowers.
A.inapertus (1m+) is a fine variety with smaller flower heads in striking purple, dusted with white.
