In the W. Cape it must be protected from south-easter wind. Areas protected from strong wind.
Tolerates moderate drought, once established.
Requires regular watering, until established.
Propagate from seed.

It carries plenty of flowers, with pink stamens in spring to early summer followed by long green pods. The leaves are doubly pinnate and can cause a mess if planted close to a swimming pool.
