Campanula Bell flowers

Planting position: Full sun or semi-shade.
Protection from strong winds.
Ideal for high rainfall regions with no humidity.
Requires regular summer watering, never allowing the soil to dry out..
Compost-enriched soil.
Well-draining, fertile soil.
Monthly applications of fertiliser, during growing season.
Watch out for caterpillars, aphids, snails, slugs and fungal diseases.
Propagate from seed, division or cuttings.

This evergreen family produces bell-shaped, moisture-loving flowers.
C. carpatica (15cm) bears blue summer flowers.
C. elatines (15cm) produces long-lasting blue flowers from spring to autumn.
C. medium (50 - 80cm) has violet, blue or pink flowers arranged on tall spikes.
C. persicifolia (1m) with bluish or white summer flowers on spikes.
C. portenschlagiana (15cm) has rich green, heart-shaped foliage and blue flowers.
C. poscharskyana (35 - 45cm) bears powdery blue flowers on its stems.
C. pyramidalis (1m) with beautiful, pale blue flowers, shaded purple towards the base.
