This easy-to-grow plant is popular for its attractive foliage and orchid-like flowers.
Its large leaves are in shades of purple, scarlet, bronze and pale green. The summer
flowers can appear throughout the year in favourable conditions, and available in
scarlet to red, pink, pinkish-orange, yellow, gold, cream and ivory white. Some are
blotched, fringed or striped. The many varieties range from tall- to dwarf sizes.
