Cedrus deodora Deodar, Himalayan cedar

Planting position: Full sun. Ideal for areas with high rainfall.
Requires regular and thorough watering.
Plant in deep soil with slow-release fertiliser.
Pruning of dead branches only.
Propagate from autumn-sown seed.

A slow grower with grey green needle-like leaves and cones on drooping branches. It's triangular-shaped with an arching leader.
Cedrus libanii ssp. Atlantica ‘Glauca’ (Blue Atlas cedar, 30m) is an extraordinary feature plant with a conical shape. The leaves are needle-like and bluish-grey on stiff, upright branches.
