Planting position: Full sun.
Suitable for all growing regions.
Requires regular watering.
Compost-enriched soil.
Application of liquid fertiliser with first appearance of flower buds.
Watch out for fungal diseases, fusarium and snails.
Propagate from seed.

This popular, free-flowering annual has fleshy foliage and single or double flowers in shades of yellow, white, mauve to bronzy-red. All the blooms are ringed prominently in the centre with brown, red, purple or yellow.

Chrysanthemum varieties:

C. Anemone hybrids (60cm) has a “ball” of central tubular petals, encircled by a double row of flat petals.
C. Charm hybrids (60cm) produces single or semi-double, star-shaped flowers.
C. Decorative hybrids (1,5m) with sprays of smaller flowers.
C. Exhibition hybrids (80 - 100cm) with round, large flower heads. The nearly 20cm “balls” are formed through wide petals curving inwards to the centre..
C. Pompon hybrids (65cm) has round and compact small flowers, hence the name.
C. Single hybrids (60cm) has a couple of petal rows surrounding the central part.
C. Spider hybrids (80 - 90cm) with an obvious spidery appearance from long, spreading petals.
