Planting position: Full sun. Suitable for most growing regions, without severe frost. Ideal for regions with high summer rainfall.
Requires regular and thorough watering. Well-draining soil, enriched with compost. Generous layers of mulching in spring. Annual applications of complete fertiliser. Staking where necessary. Watch out for slugs, aphids, caterpillars, cutting worms, rust, nematodes or damping off.
Propagate from sown seed, cuttings or division.

This family of perennials bears daisy-like, long-lasting summer flowers.
C. coccineum is bushy with small white, red or pink flowers. Its double form reminds of small pincushions.
C. frutescens is a bushy perennial with single, double and semi-double flowers of white, yellow or pink colouring. Its foliage is lush green.
C. maximum is charming with a profusion of yellow centred, large white daisies.
C. parthenium bears masses of small white daisy-like flowers and has aromatic foliage.
C. x rubellum produces sweetly-scented, striking single flowers in pink.
