Cotoneaster salicifolius

China; 2 - 3m
Planting position: Full sun or semi-shade. 80cm spacing between plants.
Requires regular watering, especially during dry spells and well-draining fertile soil. An application of a complete fertiliser in spring. Prune down to ½m in first year and 1m in second year. After the first two years only prune for shape after berries have fallen.
Propagate from cuttings in summer.

This Cotoneaster grows reasonably fast, with willow-like leaves on arching branches. The long-lasting, bright red berries appear after the clusters of white summer flowers.
