Cymbidium Angelica 'Advent'

Planting and growing requirements: warm conditions during growing season, cooler, drier and no disturbance during resting period.
Ideal temperature: 10°C

This plant is striking when in flower during autumn and winter. Then large, 10 - 14, flowers appear on upright spikes that are pale yellow. The lip is cream-coloured and slightly spotted with striking maroon, intensifying towards the throat.
C. Ayres Rock 'Cooksbridge Velvet' has winter and spring flowers of striking crimson-red, with a trace of white. The lips are dark crimson-red and edged boldly with white.
C. Bulbarrow 'Our Midge' produces many flowers during spring. These small blooms are prettily pink with deep reddish-pink lips.
C. devonianum is a miniature specie that has red spots over its green spring flowers and the lip is triangular with purple.
C. Dingwall 'Lewes' carries its many flowers on upright spikes from late spring to early summer. Most of the flowers are white excepting the red markings on the lip.
C. eburneum is quite an inconsistent winter- and spring flowerer. These blooms are white with the lip striped in the centre with yellow, edged by two yellow keels.
C. Fort George 'Lewes' has winter and spring flowers of green, produced up to 13 flowers per spike.
C. lowianum is spring flowering with large green flowers and a V-shaped marking on the lip of vivid red.
C. Peter Pan 'Greensleeves' has autumn flowers on many flower spikes of soft green with the lip strongly marked and edged with deep red. Cut these flowers off after two weeks for the vase.
C. Stonehaven 'Cooksbridge' produces creamy-white autumn and winter flowers with a dark red edging around the soft yellow lip. A great potplant for the home.
C. Touchstone 'Janis' is a miniature variety with graceful sprays of bronze winter and spring flowers with deep red lips.
C. traceyanum also produces autumn flowers of strong fragrance, a little unpleasant smelling. The white lip has red spots and the green petals have red stripes.
