Planting position: Full sun in drier areas without severe frost.
Requires watering only when needed and sandy loam soil with perfect drainage.
Propagate from seed or cuttings.
This fast growing, succulent family bears numerous, brilliant coloured, daisy-like spring flowers. The small leaves are cylindrical and shine with bright dots.
D. bicolor (55cm) is spring flowering with purple, golden centred blooms and has green leaves on upright stems.
D. floribundum (7cm) trails with its long, green stems, which are clothed with small, cylindrical and light green leaves. The spring flowers are small and pink and borne abundantly.
D. speciosum (35cm) is a bushy, seed-Propagated plant with cylindrical, lime-green leaves on its wiry, spreading stems. Its spring flowers are striking orange with dark centres.
