During winter and spring, this evergreen plant is much branched, bearing cup-
shaped flowers of a yellowish-green shade.
H. niger (40 - 45cm) flowers in winter with cup-shaped, white flowers.
H. orientalis (35cm) has variable, saucer-shaped flowers, often purple spotted and ranging in colour from pink, purple to green. It flowers in winter, and has large, hairy foliage.
