Iris Pacific Coast group

Planting position: Full sun. Wind-protected planting spot. Suitable for all growing regions without hot, humid conditions. Ideal for regions with high summer rainfall. For drier regions adequate watering must be provided.
Requires regular watering during growing season. Well-draining soil, enriched with well-rotted compost. Late winter application of complete fertiliser. Watch out for snails and slugs.
Propagate from late autumn division, or from summer-sown seed.

These irises are beardless, originating from the N. America’s Pacific Coast. The spring flowers appear from small clumps of dark green foliage. The colours range from purple, mauve, brown, yellow and white.
I. innominata has brownish to lavender flowers.
