Leonotis leonurus Lion’s tail, lion’s ear, wild dagga

Planting position: Full sun. Tolerates drought.
Requires regular watering until established. Loamy soil that drains well. Pruning back hard in late winter (down to ground level).
Propagate from seed or semi-hardwood cuttings in summer.

This plant is very easy growing and has tall spikes of bright, striking orange flowers that attracts birds.
L. ocymifolia is similar to leonurus but with smaller leaves.
