Planting and growing requirements: warm, well-watered conditions during growing season, cooler and drier during resting period. Avoid watering on the foliage.

The winter and spring flowers are borne on a single stem, bright yellow and highly fragrant, hence the name.
L. cruenta wants similar conditions to L. aromatic, and will benefit from annual repotting. Its winter and spring flowers are yellowish-green with a deep red marking in the throat.
L. deppei also needs the above mentioned requirements and its winter and spring flowers are quite striking. These have smaller with petals, green sepals with reddish spots and a yellow lip, also spotted in reddish colour.
L. virginalis are again similar in growing requirements and is quite easy to grow. Its flowers are usually rich to pale pink with the lip spotted with dark red. Rarely a white form is seen.
