Maxillaria picta

Planting and growing requirements: light feeding and good watering during growing season with good light and no disturbance during resting period.

This plant grows two long, slim leaves from its globular pseudobulbs and its winter-flowers are mostly reddish-brown on the outside and yellow on the inside. Its lip is white and faintly spotted in red.
M. pophyrostele wants temperatures of between 10 - 13°C and grows best in a basket. Its yellow winter and spring flowers have incurring sepals and petals.
M. tenuifolia would like to grow in 10°C had has summer flowers of brick-red colouring. The lip however is yellow with the same reddish-coloured spots.
