Planting position: Full sun. Wind-protected area. Regions not prone to severe frost or humidity.
Requires occasional watering, only when soil is dry Well-draining soil. Small and occasional applications of complete fertiliser. After-flowering-pruning to a leaf joint. Watch out for attacks from caterpillars, red spider mite, aphids and for rust.
Propagate from cuttings.

A well-known evergreen that is summer, winter and spring flowering. Its glossy leaves are sometimes variegated and its flowers range from single, semi-double to double flowers. Varieties in colour range in shades from purple, lavender, maroon, pink, mauve, red, orange and white.
