Requires regular watering.
Well-draining soil.
Late winter- and mid summer applications of complete fertiliser.
Watch out for snails, aphids and slugs.
Propagate from winter division, autumn-sown seed or cuttings.
Often treated as a biennial, the Penstemon is spring- and summer flowering,
or in warmer areas, winter flowering. Its blooms are available in pink or
shades of red, some bi-coloured with lavender and white.
