Planting and growing requirements: plenty of warmth, moisture and shade.
Ideal temperature: 18 - 20°C

A compact plant with tall flower spikes, carrying the textured spring and autumn flowers. These are (a) yellowish with tan-brown blotches, or (b) white with dense spotting of pink.
P. equestris wants the same temperatures but flowers a little earlier, during autumn and winter with soft pink flowers that have a darker colouring on the oval lip.
P. Hennessy flowers during any season with many blooms on each spike. The colours range from soft pink to white, spotted or striped with pink or red. The lip may be pink or orange.
P. lueddemanniana has small, but many, spring to summer flowers of yellow or white, striped or spotted with purple or pink. The lip is small and mostly purple.
P. schillerana is evergreen and spring flowering with long flattened roots that they use to fix themselves to branches. The blooms are a pinkish-purple, packed in great numbers on tall flower spikes.
P. Space Queen is a strong, easy grower and flowers during any season. Its white or pale pink blooms are spotted densely with red.
P. Temple Cloud needs only about 18°C and loves moisture and shade. Its circular flowers are textured and mostly white. These graceful flowers appear any time of the year.
P. violacea wants temperatures of 18 - 20°C and during summer produces scented white flowers with purplish shading.
