Propagate from fungicide dusted seed.
Harvesting is done from 2 -3onths after sowing. Remove young and tender pods regularly over 2 months.
Pests, diseases and their cures: CMR beetles and cutworms - dust with BHC. Brown rust - spray with Dithane two-weekly. Bacterial blight - spray with blitox, two weekly.
The crisp and tender runner bean is also known as white Dutch- or scarlet runners. The broad, shorter pods are strong flavoured and still one of the most popular beans grown in England.
