This herbaceous perennial bears large, round and scented flower heads, or trusses,
during late summer and autumn. The blooms are striking, in colours ranging
from purple, scarlet, pink, mauve, salmon, orange and clear white.
P. subulata (10cm) has the common name Moss pink with small, thin foliage
and small spring and summer flowers of rose-pink.
