Prunus glandulosa ‘rosea’ Flowering almond

Planting position: Full sun or semi-shade. Ideal for cold winter areas with high summer rainfall. Non-humidity regions.
Requires adequate watering during dry spells and especially in summer. Compost-enriched soil. Apply complete fertiliser in spring. Shape-pruning.
Propagate from spring or summer soft tip cuttings.

An upright growing, shrubby tree with light green, oval leaves. It covers itself with lovely, rosy-pink flowers in spring and it is a fast grower.
Prunus laurocerasus (Laurel, 4m) produces pinkish-red flowers in summer, these are followed by dark purple, edible fruit. It’s leaves are large and shiny green.
Prunus salicifolia (Mexican cherry, 4m) with it’s rounded head provides good autumn colour displays, it produces small white flowers on elongated stems in spring. Black-red fruit appears, after the flowering, in summer.
Prunus serrulata (Oriental cherry, 4m) is deciduous and spreads low branches. During spring it produces lilac-pink flowers.

‘Amanogava’ is a beautiful tree with semidouble, white or light pink flowers.
‘Gioiko’ is hardy with semidouble, cream flowers, streaked green and flushed pink.
‘Kanzan’ is a charmer that bears reddish young leaves and double, pink flowers.
‘Mount Fuji’ is a small, weeping tree with large, single, scented white flowers.
‘Ukon’ has bronze, young leaves and semidouble, yellow flowers.
