The evergreen rose-apple bears interesting shaped fruit, appearing after the clusters of white summer flowering. Its leaves are glossy and dark green.
Syzygium malaccense (Malay apple, 4m) is an evergreen bearing golf ball sized edible and pinkish to purple fruit.
Syzygium paniculatum (Australian water pear, 5m) is evergreen and attracts bird-life with its pink, cherry-like fruit.
