This evergreen flower in autumn and spring, and the 14cm, across, flowers are either purple or pink, according to the specific specie. The 14cm long leaves are deep green and veined.
Tibouchina mutabilis (5m) has autumn and spring flowers, starting off being white, turning purplish-pink and eventually fades into a lavender shade.
Tibouchina urvilleana (Brazilian glory bush, 3m) flowers in summer and autumn and the flowers are purple ‘bleeding’ close to the centre into red.
Tibouchina versicolor (5m) flowers in summer and autumn. The flowers start off being white, changing into a soft pink and fading into lavender.
Tibouchina viminea (3m) bears, in warmer regions, violet-coloured flowers for most of the year.
