Pests, diseases and their cures: Aphids - spray with Malathion. Rust and chocolate spot - spray with Dithane and copper oxychloride. Thrips - spray with dimethoate.
Broad beans are flat, cream or pale green and large. These beans are eaten during two stages. More mature beans are shelled like peas and steamed or cooked. Those still forming are cooked like French beans.
